Home owners in Ireland to receive discount on energy bills
Home owners in Ireland to receive discount on energy bills: In January, the Republic of Ireland intends to give everyone €100 (£85) off their electric bills.
The universal, one-time electricity credit, which is expected to be discussed today in the Cabinet, aims to provide relief to thousands of households that are currently struggling to pay their bills due to rising electricity prices.
The scheme is expected to cost approximately €170 million (£145 million).
According to the Central Statistics Office’s most recent consumer price index, the cost of electricity, gas, and other fuels is up 29 percent from this time last year.
