ScottishPower’s CEO has called for “tailored” assistance during energy crisis: With the new energy price cap about to be published on February 7th, calls for help for the most vulnerable consumers are growing.
ScottishPower Chief Executive Keith Anderson stated that government assistance should be “tailored.”
“There is merit in the government looking at bringing in something that is quite targeted to help the most vulnerable in society.” He told the PA news agency
“I think the more you can target that support at those people, the better and the more affordable it becomes and the more sensible it becomes.”
According to reports, the government is considering several methods to protect homeowners from rising utility prices.
These initiatives include a VAT decrease, an extension of the Warm Home Discount, and a government-backed credit plan for suppliers to assist them share the cost of taking on clients from bankrupt companies.
Ministers are expected to reveal their intentions in the following days.
